Hey Book Clubbers,

Hope that you will register to run at the 2019 AIDS Run/Walk for Life.  It's that 5K on 6/1 that we discussed (unicorn rainbow themed) and should be really fun.  Your participation is super important.  In the wake of devastating statewide budget reductions, APRI is seeking to preserve critical programs for our clients that have lost $800K in funding - programs like nutritional supplements, emergency financial support, housing assistance, substance use counseling, psychiatric services, outreach, testing, and compassionate care.  Your participation can help us to save lives.

You may know that the Run/Walk for Life is AIDS Project Rhode Island’s largest fundraising event.  This year’s Run/Walk for Life  unofficially kicks off LGBTQ Pride Month and takes place just two weeks before Rhode Island Pride. In addition, June 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which ushered in the modern-day fight for LGBTQ equal rights. With these events in mind, the theme for this year’s Run/Walk is “Stride for Pride & Show Your True Colors” and encourages participants to show up in their most colorful, eye-catching, and fabulous creations—all in the name of uniting the community and helping those affected by and living with HIV.
